Orthopedic Oncology Nurse Practitioner Opportunity in Exciting Dallas Texas!
As the incoming NP, you'll join an orthopedic oncology services department and assist in program development and advancement. The successful candidate will be a certified Nurse Practitioner, orthopedic certification preferred, with a minimum of 3 yrs experience in direct patient care in this setting or a comparable setting, and current Texas RN and Advanced Practice licenses.
Responsibilities include: Utilizing principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques in obtaining a comprehensive health history to formulate a plan of care and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic interventions; Using principles and skills in advanced health assessment for differentiating normal and abnormal finding of physical and aging process; Synthesizing knowledge of physiology, pathology, culture, and psychosocio-economics to assess, plan, provide and evaluate therapeutic interventions with patient, family, physician(s) and medical director; Assuming a leadership role in primary health that includes innovation, consultation, advocacy, accountability, and responsibility for quality health services to patients and families; Providing leadership and education opportunities for staff professional development; Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care; Initiating action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information; Adapting care measures to reflect age-specific and developmental considerations; Performing specialty-specific technical procedures safely and proficiently; and other duties as required.
